SB 1139 -- MEMORIAL HIGHWAY SPONSOR: Gibbons (Yaeger) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Transportation by a vote of 15 to 0. This bill designates the portion of State Highway 21 from the intersection of Lindbergh Avenue to the intersection of Gravois Road in St. Louis County as the "Sergeant William McEntee Memorial Highway." The Department of Transportation must erect and maintain appropriate signage to be paid for by Kirkwood police officers. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and FY 2009. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the designation is appropriate for a law enforcement officer who lost his life in the line of duty. Testifying for the bill was Senator Gibbons. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee. Robert Triplett, Legislative AnalystCopyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
